BIOCRATES Life Sciences AG is pleased to announce that Elgar Schnegg joined the company in June 2008 as Chief Executive Officer and speaker of the management board.

Schnegg comes to Biocrates after four years as Managing Director of Sandoz & Hexal Commercial Operations Austria. He spent the previous years in the FMCG industry General Manager of International Business for Head AG. The former top athlete started his career with Eli Lilly, one of the leading US Pharmaceutical companies, where he quickly rose to become Managing Director for the Balkan Countries.

Schnegg said, "I am pleased to be a part of the team at Biocrates. Our strong technology platform is well-suited for research markets, and will provied an established method for routine diagnostics in the coming years. We look forward to creating a bright future by providing our customers with the most reliable and robust data in the industry."

Schnegg has extensive experience in general management, marketing and sales. He plans to drive sales of Biocrates' new product, the AbsoluteIDQ™ Kit, together with his international team. The AbsoluteIDQ™ Kit provides hardware and software that can be used in combination with a mass spectrometer to identifiy and quantify over 160 metabolites.

BIOCRATES Life Sciences AG is a leading biotechnology company in the field of metabolomics. The company was founed in 2002 in Innsbruck and has established a proprietary platform for targeted metabolomics. The technology platform provides the basis for Biocrates' AbsoluteIDQ™ Kit and TargetIDQ™ Contract Research Services. BIOCRATES Life Sciences AG is signifantly financed by venture capital investment from MIG Fonds 1 and 3.
