Today, LGC announced the acquisition of Paragon Scientific (Paragon), a leading manufacturer of reference materials for applied markets including the petroleum and petrochemical sectors.

The acquisition of Paragon strengthens LGC’s global reference material offering for applied markets and complements its existing product portfolio. The combination with Paragon provides improved access for customers to a wider portfolio of products via an extended commercial and distribution network and an enhanced R&D capability, which will facilitate the introduction of new products.

Jon Yeung, MD, LGC Standards said, “We are delighted to welcome Paragon to LGC, having known the company for many years. Our product portfolios are complementary, providing us with the capability to manufacture and supply a wider product range to our customers worldwide. Founded in 1994, Paragon employs 22 people in the North West of England with two facilities located in Birkenhead and is accredited to ISO 17025 and ISO 17034.
