Shimadzu Corporation. (1/5/15). "Press Release: Release of RADspeed fit General Radiography System With a Compact Design and Best-in-Class High Image Quality".

Organisation Organisation Shimadzu Corporation
  Group Shimadzu (Group)

Shimadzu released the RADspeed fit general radiography system, which offers higher image quality than any other compact integrated system in its class.

As the newest product in the RADspeed series, the RADspeed fit is an outstanding radiography system that offers a cost-effective balance of functionality for supporting a wide range of general radiographic applications, such as chest, abdomen or extremities, and including emergency examinations, while also providing the same easy operability and extensive functionality for reducing exposure levels as developed for other products in the series.

Furthermore, it can be combined with either a digital or analog image processing system, making it ideal as an entry level digital radiography (DR) system equipped with a digital X-ray detector (FPD).

New Product Features

1. Provides the Highest Image Quality in Its Class

The system is equipped with a large output X-ray high voltage generator capable of tube current levels up to 630 mA (56 kW model) or 500 mA (32 kW model), which were not possible with previous integrated radiography systems. This results in shorter exposure times. It also minimizes blur in images even for larger patients, which contributes to improved diagnostic capabilities.

2. Highest Weight Capacity in Its Class

With a 220 kg weight capacity, the highest in its class, the system can be used for examining larger patients without worry.

3. Facilitates a Smooth Examination Process

A floating tabletop that can be slid either at longitudinal or at lateral direction, and a support column and tube holder arm that can be moved longitudinally or laterally provide a large examination range. This makes it possible to freely position the patient without having to actually move the patient. It also features a mechanism that can rotate the X-ray tube by 180 degrees around the support column, which allows direct radiography of patients laying on a stretcher or sitting in a wheelchair placed next to the table, either on the far side or 90 degrees to the side.
By pressing a single button, the "one-touch guide" displays the SID and cassette size required during radiography and whether or not a grid is required. Optimal parameters can be specified, from 432 radiography parameters registered in the system, only by selecting the radiography technique, examination region, exposure direction, and body thickness. That makes it possible to prepare for infrequently performed radiography of unfamiliar regions with confidence.
Furthermore, using these features for a smoother preparation process helps minimize the stress to patients from examinations.

4. Care for Reducing X-Ray Dose

The system includes a removable grid mechanism that allows the grid to be removed to reduce radiation dose levels for children or other patients.
A function that calculates and displays the estimated skin dose before exposure or a function that measures the dose-area product are also available optionally.

5. Compact and Environmentally Friendly Design

The integrated design combines the X-ray tube support, Bucky table, and cabinet into one unit can be installed even at very limited space.
In case the system is used infrequently, the energy saving function works to reduce power consumption while in the standby mode. Consequently, it is an environment-friendly product that consumes about 25 % less energy than previous Shimadzu models and also helps reduce running costs.

The above products or specifications may not be available in some countries due to regulatory, administrative, commercial or any other reasons. Please contact your nearest Shimadzu sales representative for more details.
