Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today announced the availability of the Thermo Scientific eVol Dispensing System. The eVol* Dispensing System allows precise and accurate operator-independent dispensing to enable the better deployment of laboratory staff. Ideal for routine dispensing of volatile solvents and hazardous, corrosive or viscous chemicals, the system is easily calibrated by users to ensure validity of results in full compliance with GLP and GMP protocols. Useful for a range of applications - including preparation of calibration standards, addition of internal standards, precise dispensing of non-aqueous liquids and sample dilution - the eVol offers a simple dispensing solution for laboratories involved with forensics, toxicology, environmental, pharmaceutical and food safety analysis. The company will showcase the eVol in the Thermo Scientific hospitality suite at the Salt Palace Convention Center Salons 250BCEF, May 24- May 26, 2010 during ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics in Salt Lake City.
With an intuitive interface, touch wheel and full-color screen, the eVol Dispensing System unifies two precision devices, a digitally controlled electronic drive and Thermo Scientific XCHANGE analytical syringe, to provide exceptional versatility and functionality. Users of any skill level can easily calibrate the system and accurately and precisely dispense liquids. An integrated XCHANGE* coupling allows syringes to be quickly and easily changed. This is a simple push-up device that contains a magnetic piece which holds the syringe firmly in place. Furthermore, adding MEPS (micro extraction by packed sorbent) to the XCHANGE syringe offers automated sample preparation by SPE in a handheld system.
The eVol Dispensing System system is supplied with three syringes in different volumes and a stand. For more information on the Thermo Scientific eVol, as well as other Thermo Scientific products, please visit the Thermo Scientific hospitality suite at the Salt Palace Convention Center Salons 250BCEF during ASMS 2010.
