Mr. Lukas MÄRK stepped in as CEO of the worlds' leading PTR-MS company IONICON Analytik GmbH on June 1, 2011.
He joined IONICON in 2005 and has been responsible for Marketing & Sales during the last years where IONICON experienced considerable growth and a very successful development in the market.
Lukas MÄRK succeeds his father, Prof. Tilmann MÄRK who got promoted to be rector of the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck, Austria after being vice-rector for research the last eight years.
He led IONICON since 2001 and shaped a professional high-tech corporation from the start-up university spin-off company it was back in 2001.
Lukas MÄRK's background is international business studies where he got his Master's degree in 2006 and ever since focused himself on a market driven development approach, having a leading-edge technology transformed into products fulfilling the needs of users in growing niche markets.
He says: "I will continue the path that was started by my father and will emphasize on profitable growth, becoming more professional as a company and entering into new markets with my colleagues, an exceptionally motivated team of specialists who share the same vision."
Tilmann MÄRK continues as Senior Advisor but stepped back from his operative responsibilities to fully engage with his new challenge as rector and vice-rector for research of the University of Innsbruck.

IONICON also produces special monitoring solutions for various industrial applications, has a strong in-house R&D department and is partner of many international research projects with renowned academic partners.
