PharmaNet Development Group, Inc., a leading provider of clinical development services to innovative pharmaceutical, biotechnology, generic drug and medical device companies, announced today that George A. McMillan has joined the Company as Chief Financial Officer.

"We are pleased to have George join PharmaNet Development Group," commented Jeffrey P. McMullen, President and Chief Executive Officer. "He has proven experience in successfully driving financial management strategies and productivity improvement initiatives for both public and private organizations."

Mr. McMillan joins PharmaNet Development Group from Ze-Gen, Inc., a Boston-based renewable energy company, where he filled the dual role of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, George held the position of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Operating Officer at diversified technology and services firms, including The Palladium Group, Inc., CMGI, Inc., BMG Direct (Bertelsmann A.G.), Renaissance Solutions, Eastern Exclusives and others.

Mr. McMillan has an A.B. in Economics from Stanford University and received his J.D. and M.B.A. from Harvard University.
