At the American Society for Mass Spectrometry conference, Bruker Daltonics Inc. (NASDAQ: BDAL) today introduces HyStar(TM) 2.3, the latest version of its hyphenation software for LC/MS and LC-NMR/MS applications. HyStar controls and integrates numerous HPLCs, UV and DAD detectors in conjunction with our life-science mass spectrometers, including ion trap, ESI-TOF and FTMS systems.

HyStar FC provides UV- and MS-based fraction collection capabilities for both analytical and semi-preparative flow rates. In combination with the esquire series of ion traps, HyStar FC enables applications like UV, MS and MS/MS based auto-purification of natural products. For proteomics applications without gels, HyStar LCn/MSn enables comprehensive two-dimensional 2D-nanoLC/MS/MS experiments using our esquire3000plus research ion trap. Digested peptides from complex protein mixtures, or even from total cell extracts can be analyzed automatically by combining two-dimensional nanoLC and autoMSn multi-dimensional mass analysis with smart precursor ion selection, as well as protein database searches via our biotools(TM) bioinformatics software.

HyStar 2.3 also allows PeakParking(TM) to obtain more in-depth information from autoMSn experiments on co-eluting or very low abundance peptides. The PeakParking features boosts the success rate for identification of low abundance samples, and facilitates de novo sequencing.
