Blue Reference, Inc. released version 3.1 of Paradigm for Search, their search-based application that provides unified access to information silos used by scientists in R&D. This new version of Paradigm for Search has been extended to support an increased number of popular information sources and science object types and has been demonstrated to be scalable to millions of records.

Paradigm for Search brings together information (regardless of source or format) that scientists need to answer complex questions. It connects in real-time to disparate information sources like file shares, databases, SharePoint, EMC Documentum, Nugenesis SDMS, Accelrys ELN, and major LIMS systems.

Science Objects Revolutionize Search for Scientists

The innovative architecture of Paradigm for Search combines the search speed of an index with the power of a semi-structured database. Upstream, Science Object services recognize and transform scientific content into standardized science objects used in cheminformatics and bioinformatics. Downstream, Paradigm for Search delivers Science Objects in unique result views, providing scientists with rich content that they can interact with in a fluid and intuitive manner.

Paradigm for Search employs a series of automated Content Analytics services that extract, aggregate, analyze and enrich content with meta-data. The combination of meta-data enrichment with Science Object intelligence offers new avenues for information discovery and problem solving. Paradigm for Search enables the scientist to quickly connect the dots by enabling a unified view of all available relevant information and presenting it in a meaningful and focused context.

Paradigm for Search is a search-based application constructed from the Paradigm Platform: an integrated collection of software services designed for construction of search-based applications involving science objects. The Paradigm Platform is designed as a Service Oriented Architecture built on top of the Microsoft .NET 4.0 Framework. This makes it easier and more cost effective to integrate Paradigm for Search with the collaborative technology, document tools, and workflows available in Microsoft SharePoint and Office.
