Request and task management software increases operational efficiency of biopharma R&D organizations
Genedata, a leading provider of advanced software solutions for biopharmaceutical R&D, today announced the release of a new Request Management Module, which improves operational efficiency and monitors overall R&D operations by supporting the full life cycle of task scheduling. Used to submit and track requests from initiation through completion, it manages intergroup communications and centrally documents project progression in real time. The module addresses key operational requirements, such as scheduling complex, iterative, multi-step tasks, and provides status updates of each task to ensure all steps are completed on time. The software is particularly valuable for biopharma R&D operations in a division-of-labor environment in which completion of experiments not only requires close interactions between specialized groups, such as molecular biology, expression, purification, analytics, and assay teams, but also the integration of tasks performed by CROs and other external collaborators. The module is part of the continuously growing Genedata Biopharma Platform and is available for immediate licensing.
The new Request Management Module is the result of long-term co-development collaborations with major biopharmaceutical partners, where it has been implemented and is already being successfully used, for example, to streamline the production and characterization of both therapeutic antibodies and novel bispecific and other next-generation biologics. It has three main advantages over generic or custom-built request management systems. First, it comes with built-in business logic tailored to biopharma R&D workflows. Second, it is an off-the-shelf system that can be put into productive use immediately after installation, and can also be flexibly configured to support customer-specific process requirements. Finally, it seamlessly integrates with the biopharmaceutical workflows systems Genedata Biologics® and Genedata Bioprocess® for large-molecule discovery and development. Integrations with other systems in the Genedata Biopharma Platform are under development.
“Our new Request Management Module is another major step towards building a fully integrated end-to-end platform for biotherapeutics research, development, and manufacturing,” stated Dr. Othmar Pfannes, CEO of Genedata. “This new system complements our existing biopharma platform solutions and further optimizes resource allocation, increases productivity, and generates significant efficiencies for our customers.”
