Markes International Ltd has announced the appointment of highly experienced market development manager Keith Huang as its new Asia Pacific (APAC) regional manager.
Having spent seven years at Agilent Technologies Singapore Pte Ltd, latterly as regional sales manager, Huang comes to Markes with a deep understanding not just of its geographical markets, but also its products and services.
“I know first-hand how respected Markes is in the APAC area,” he says. “The company’s innovative products have a first-class reputation, and there is great potential for Markes’ growth in the region. I am delighted to be brought on board at such an exciting time of expansion for the company.”
Huang will work alongside Markes’ Asia Pacific Sales Manager, Chris Llewellyn, to develop distribution channels and partnerships in APAC territories including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan and South Korea, which ultimately will mean enhanced service, increased local support and faster order turnaround for Markes’ customers in the region.
“Markes has expanded rapidly over the past three years, especially in Asia Pacific,” says Andy Hardwick, Commercial Director of its parent company, Schauenburg Analytics. “Its expansion is organically enhanced by the inherent benefits of working in tandem with its sister company, SepSolve Analytical.
“SepSolve Analytical and Markes International are both Schauenburg Analytics companies. Markes manufactures and sells instrumentation for sample preparation and concentration, including thermal desorption, SPME, headspace and high-capacity sorptive extraction. It also supplies a comprehensive range of instruments, sampling equipment and supplies that enhance the analytical capability of GC–MS.
“SepSolve provides tailored product and application packages for the analytical workflow process from sampling through to detection, including GC×GC and time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOF MS), all brought together with powerful software in order to extract maximum analytical data and deliver faster throughput.
“Under the umbrella of Schauenburg Analytics, the two companies have a network of technical centres around the world. This helps us serve the needs of our customers, not just by providing equipment, but also by combining both companies’ deep knowledge banks.
Hardwick concludes: “Last year [2018], Markes won a prestigious award from the UK’s Department for International Trade for its fast growth and expansion into China. Its track record in China is strong and continues to gain traction, with significant growth across a range of industries, varying from environmental monitoring to in-vehicle air quality.
“Now is the time to build on the back of this success and forge new roads into the rest of the APAC region. We are very excited to have such an experienced market development manager as Keith on our team to help us achieve our group expansion plans.”
