Microsaic Systems plc (AIM: MSYS), the developer of point of need mass spectrometry (“MS”) instruments, is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Unimicro Technologies Inc. (“Unimicro”)(the “Agreement”).

The Agreement covers the integration of Microsaic’s compact 4500 MiD® mass spectrometry detector with Unimicro’s Capillary Electrophoresis (“CE”) Platform. Once integrated, the combined product will be sold directly by Unimicro in China via its extensive distribution network.

Glenn Tracey, CEO of Microsaic, commented, “This represents a very exciting opportunity for Microsaic. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Unimicro, to extend our compact mass spectrometry technology into China. Unimicro’s CE products are the perfect combination for our newly launched 4500 MiD®, targeting a wide range of applications in chemical and biological separation and detection.”
