Grand Opening Also Raises Money for Down Syndrome Awareness Month
MOBILion Systems, Inc., a life science company developing an analytical instrument platform that enables swift and precise drug discovery, development, and diagnosis for today’s complex diseases, has opened their new company headquarters in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The new facility allows MOBILion to expand its team, achieve key product development advancements, and provide researchers and future customers access to collaboration.
The space includes an applications development laboratory dedicated to research for MOBILion partners in the pharmaceutical, clinical research, and diagnostics industries who have a desire to get pre-product launch access to MOBILion’s proprietary Structures for Lossless Ion Mobility (SLIM) technology. SLIM technology dramatically advances the capabilities of current liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) workflows, enabling multi-dimensional analysis of biologically relevant molecules with the highest levels of resolution and throughput. MOBILion’s products are designed to enhance mass spectrometry workflows, increase instrument uptime, reduce costs, and accelerate discoveries by significantly increasing resolution and decreasing sample analysis time from hours to minutes.
“MOBILion’s new headquarters supports our rapidly growing team and helps us advance our goal of engaging with pharmaceutical, clinical and academic researchers to enable novel discoveries,” said Melissa Sherman, CEO of MOBILion. “Our expanded applications development facility provides early access to MOBILion’s SLIM technology for both existing and future partners striving to address resolution and throughput challenges in biologics characterization and accelerate drug and biomarker discovery.”
The new 10,000 square foot facility provides space to support a growing team and includes expanded product development, applications development, and customer demonstration laboratories that will foster industry collaboration.
MOBILion celebrated the grand opening of their facility last week, where they welcomed leaders from throughout the academic and pharmaceutical industries to tour the new headquarters. In honor of Down syndrome awareness month, the event doubled as a benefit for PALS programs, which provides a place for young adults with Down syndrome and their peers to have fun, grow as individuals, and build transformative friendships. As a result of that event, MOBILion raised $4,500 for the charity.
About MOBILion Systems, Inc.
MOBILion Systems is enabling advancements in disease diagnosis and treatment by commercializing instruments that improve multi-omics disease, drug, and biomarker discovery. Enhancing the study of the complement to genomics provides a better understanding of disease and drug target mechanisms and paves the way for earlier disease detection, more accurate diagnostics, improved treatment options for individual patients, and reduced healthcare costs. MOBILion’s instruments provide unprecedented speed, sensitivity and resolution, allowing rapid detection of clinically relevant molecules such as proteins, peptides, metabolites, glycans, lipids, etc., to better predict, diagnose and treat disease. MOBILion’s instruments process populationscale samples in days vs. years and detect low-abundance molecules, never before seen with existing instrumentation, providing researchers and clinicians with increased confidence in clinical results. The company is headquartered in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania within the Philadelphia biopharmaceutical and medical innovation corridor.
