Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, the world leading developer of analysis solutions for proteomics and biomarker discovery has started 2010 with a new look and a new website alongside the release of Progenesis SameSpots v4.0.

The new branding and website have been delivered as the foundation for maintaining the strong position Nonlinear has in the 2D gel analysis market segment and growing its reputation as a supplier of innovative software for MS-based proteomics. At the same time the 1D image analysis arm of the company has been spun out as a separate company called TotalLab. So the new website and brand was needed to provide differentiation, allowing both companies to focus on supporting their own target markets.

Will Dracup, CEO, Nonlinear Dynamics said "We started 2009 with a goal of building our reputation as an MS company supplying ground-breaking software that overcomes limitations of data analysis. This has been achieved in record time! At the same time we've maintained our commitment to providing reproducible proteomics analysis for 2D gels, with a new release of Progenesis SameSpots v4.0. The new website allows us showcase both these products and maintain the useful information people need to see the benefits of our unique technology and approach for these complimentary proteomics techniques".

Progenesis SameSpots v4.0 was successfully launched and made available to our expanding user-base at the end of January. The new features were developed based on existing user feedback and also include new displays and information to improve quality control of results from 2D gel analysis.

Nonlinear measures its success in part on the things people say about the software it provides. Since the last major release of Progenesis software solutions more customers have been publicly endorsing the difference it can make to proteomics research including,

Jorgen Ostling, AstraZeneca R&D, Molndal, Sweden who said "Unbiased differential quantitative analysis of clinical material can be performed by 2D-PAGE. However the high inter-individual variation usually found in clinical material demands for a method that allows for the analysis of large number of samples in combination with a small gel-to-gel variation. 2D-DIGE is a method that full fills the requirement for low gel-to-gel variation and a reasonable throughput. However, this approach only become useful if all protein spots from a large number of samples can be correctly matched in a efficient way. Progenesis SameSpots meet these criteria because it takes full advantage of the DIGE concept, not only for generating the quantitative data but also by its unique matching technology which generates a 100% match rate, regardless how many samples that are analyzed."
